Most small shops run on memory and a notebook that only the owner can read. That works until the day it doesn't: stock goes missing without anyone noticing, M-Pesa and the till stop agreeing, and at the end of the month there is money in the account but no idea what it was earned from. This course gives you a simple, repeatable system that fits a real shop day, with no accounting background needed.

How the course is built

You start with the smallest useful ledger and a ten-minute close at the end of each day. Then you add the pieces that make books trustworthy: counting stock, working with suppliers on credit, keeping your own money apart from the shop's, and matching M-Pesa to your records. The last chapters turn those records into a monthly profit and loss and into prices you can defend.

Who it is for

Owners and helpers of small retail, food and service shops, market traders, and anyone who keeps a till and wants to stop guessing. If you can add and subtract and use a phone, you can do this course.

What you will need

A notebook or any spreadsheet app, your phone with M-Pesa, and about twenty minutes a day. Every chapter ends with a short quiz so you know it has stuck, and every chapter gives you something to use in your shop the same day.
